The continuing adventures of Kimberly and Willy

Vacation's almost over

Back in La Manzanilla after a great vacation in North Carolina. Had a great time with my sweetie working on new things for the restaurant. Ate tons of Bar-B-Que....built a new website....Saw the effects of IKE on the way back....lots of roadside damage in Louisiana and Texas.

We did a bit of travelling around. One weekend we went up to Asheville NC. About a four hour drive to the west. Blue ridge mountains...We stayed in a rustic little cottage that sat alongside a pond with a waterfall...Nice setting.

We had dinner one evening with friends from La Manzanilla, Nancy and Larry Chamberlain. It's always interesting to see folks in a different setting than you're used to.

The next weekend we went to the beach....The Wilmington area. Specifically, we chose Wrightsville Beach and it turned out to be a great little slice of life. Little barrier island maybe a couple hundred yards wide.

Kimberly enjoying the walk on the beach....

The view from our room...We had some pretty good Bar-B-Que in Wilmington...The continuing quest for the perfect pulled pork.

This fishing pier was pretty serious business....the further out towards the end, the more serious it got....These guys at the end were going for King Mackerel...very fancy rigs.

 Nice place to wake up.

This big old gal is the Battleship North Carolina. Keel poured in the late 30's.

I'm not sure that to call these things. Ran across them somewhere in northern Mexico....Kinda Mad Max like....They were wearing helmets....Safety first.
